Admissions to Melland High School can be made at any time during the year, but usually take place in September, when students coming to the end of Year 6 and following parental preference, transfer from primary school, including specialist and mainstream schools.
Before naming Melland High School in an Education, Health & Care Plan, Manchester Local Authority must consult with the school who will then consider the appropriateness of the placement for an individual student and whether the school could meet their needs. The final decision rests with the local authority who are also responsible for maintaining the EHCP.
We can only accept referrals from Local Authorities (LA). Whilst parents are welcome to visit Melland High School and can be provided with relevant information, the school cannot proceed to the admissions stage without local authority support.
